I’m Brigitte, a 46-year-old Luxembourgish mother of two who enjoys local discoveries, good food, creativity, and time with family, friends, and Cooper, our dog. These are a few places and things I keep coming back to. Nobody paid to be here, and I’ll add more as I go.

Coffee, food & little treats

Babbocaffè, Esch-sur-Alzette

This is where we buy our coffee.

• A coffee shop and roaster at 26, rue des Remparts in Esch-sur-Alzette. The beans are roasted on site.
• Online shop: coffee, tea, accessories, coffee machines and gift baskets. Delivery in Luxembourg takes 2 to 3 days and is free from €50. They also deliver to Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands.

CafeTree, Dudelange

Another coffee favourite.

• A small roaster in Dudelange, with a coffee truck at the Dudelange market on Thursday mornings.
• Ordering: send an order by email through their e-boutique and they deliver once it’s confirmed, or buy some of their coffees on Letzshop.

Hakii, Belair

I love the sushi here. The kids love going there in the afternoon. Book a table in advance, otherwise there often isn’t a seat. Ask for the student menu when you go; I don’t think it’s on their website.

Luxlait and BIOG dairy

I love Luxlait’s Cottage Cheese and their Fromage blanc à la crème. BIOG has the best soft cheeses and the best fresh milk. We love their milk.

Germline kombucha

My favourite kombucha. I buy it at Cactus, in the fridge in the fruit and vegetable area. There are different flavours, and I love this one.

Chocolaterie RG, Dudelange

I enjoyed the chocolate cigars I was given as a present.

• A chocolate maker with its own workshop and shop at 98, avenue Grande-Duchesse Charlotte, L-3440 Dudelange. Tablets, Luxembourg-themed creations such as a chocolate Gëlle Fra, and chocolate workshops.
• Shop hours: Tuesday to Saturday 9:30 to 18:00. Closed Monday; Sunday is for workshops only.

Out with the kids

Bambësch and Am Clubhaus op der Spora

A great place for families. There’s a big outdoor playground, you can go jogging in the woods, and there’s a tennis court next to it. Afterwards you can eat at the Spora restaurant: they have a big menu, I love the sushi there, and they also have classic things like cordon bleu, so everyone finds something.
